There’s no refund for regret

If you act on someone’s suggestion and your decision yields an unwanted result, the person who gave you their advice is not going to magically jump inside of your body and experience the negative consequences for you. Those unwanted results will be delivered to your doorstep and they will have your name on them.

You can point the finger and say “my misery is their fault.” But when you’re done being right, you’ll still have to go back to living your life while your adviser will carry on with business as usual.

Here’s today’s two cents:

There’s no refund for regret. If you don’t take ownership of your choices and results, the world will make you do it anyway. So before you take another’s advice, make sure you’re able to afford the price.

  1. Sir, first please tell me who you are? And then tell me what is it that you want from me? Am I being accused or threaten here? What is deal?

  2. Hi T.K,
Sorry that my English is not that great to come up with writing like yours but since it seems that somehow you are aware of what is going on in my life and somehow suggesting that you are here to help! I’d like to know who exactly are you? One day suggesting that I should rise up just Dr. King and one day you suggest that the only way is Love … I want to get to know you and see if there is something specific that you want from?
    Cheers

    1. Hi Zac,

Thanks for taking the time to clarify your questions. I appreciate it. Here’s my two cents on all you have said and asked. Feel free to give me your honest feedback once you’ve read my response:

      1. Sir, first please tell me who you are?

I am an ordinary person just like you. I am nothing special. I’m just a regular guy who follows his heart. More specifically, my name is T.K. Coleman and I am from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated college from The university of Western Michigan and I currently live in Los Angeles. I’ve been married for a little more than a year and I spend my time enjoying life with my wife, writing on topics I feel passionate about, working on various creative projects, reading books that seem interesting to me, and hanging out with my friends. I am a transparent individual with nothing to hide. If you’d like to know anything more specific about me, feel free to ask.

      2. And then tell me what is it that you want from me?

Your life is yours to live, Zac. I do not have any demands or requirements of you. The best counsel I would offer to you or anyone else is as follows: follow your own inner guidance and don’t place your life in anyone else’s hands. You know what’s best for you. All you have to do is trust yourself and learn how to hear the voice of your own intuition. Don’t let the advice or insight of ANYONE (including me) take precedent over what feels right to you.

      3. Am I being accused or threaten here?

I’m not sure why you would ask me that, but to answer the question: No! I am not accusing you of anything nor am I threatening you. I do not use my blog as a way of sending hidden messages to people. If I have something specific to say to you, I will say it directly to you. This blog post was not written with you in mind. I was simply sharing a life lesson that I learned the hard way. Once upon a time, I listened to everyone but myself and it caused me a lot of unnecessary suffering. I spent many years blaming other people for my problems, but it never made my life any easier. My life didn’t start to improve until I started taking ownership of all my choices and results. So, that’s the state of mind that my blog post was written from. It was not directed at you at all.

      4. it seems that somehow you are aware of what is going on in my life and somehow suggesting that you are here to help!

I am not aware of anything about your life other than what you tell me and you haven’t told me very much. When I write, I am simply following my inspiration. If my words seem to speak to you on a personal level, then it is simply a matter of synchronicity. While i am more than willing to offer my thoughts on anything you ask me, they are simply my thoughts. I do not offer myself as anyone’s savior or guide. If what I have to say is helpful, then you should use it for your benefit. If what I have to say is unhelpful, then you should discard it. I encourage you to take nothing on my authority. Always think for yourself. Always test things out for yourself. Always question everything and everyone until you discover what resonates with you.

      5. One day suggesting that I should rise up just Dr. King and one day you suggest that the only way is Love

Just to be clear, I do not think you need to be as big and as bold as Dr. King. You only need to be true to yourself. Dr. King was a great leader simply because he was true to himself, he dared to follow his dream, and he didn’t allow anyone to discourage him. We are all capable of doing the same things in our own unique way. More importantly, no matter what I suggests, the question you should be asking yourself is “what feels right for Zac?”

      6. I want to get to know you and see if there is something specific that you want from?

You know where to find me, Zac. I’m here everyday. I’ve replied to everything you have ever written to me. I am a very easy person to get to know. If you have something to ask, you’re always welcome to ask it. And again, I have no demands or requirements of you. You are free to chart your own course in life as you see fit. If you want my input on anything, just ask and I’ll be glad to give it. Just remember: It’s good to learn from other people’s perspectives, but it’s more important that you do what seems best to you.

      7. The world make me do what?

The world will make you take responsibility for your own actions whether you want to or not. No matter what you do in life, you’re the one who has to live with the consequences of your choices. This is true for you, me, and everybody else.

      Your thoughts?

      1. Hi T.K,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my questions! They simply lame expression of my frustrations and concerns.. The thing is I feel as if I somehow lost my freedom to choose what I really want to accomplish here on planet earth.. Although I have a sea of love to offer .. I feel perplexed and confused.. The creative force needs to flow freely in order to manifest in its fullest form.. And how one can feel free if the invasion of privacy is taking place?.. You talk about Dr. King.. Zac is a student of evolution not revelation.. My humble belief and goal in life is to be a better person than yesterday and simply be a catalyst to my evolutionary experience here in this lifetime… Believing that by just doing that I contribute to the evlotion of all mankind.. On other note I need to say that I don’t consider myself a threat to ANYONE.. How a man that can’t even harm a bug could be a threat to anyone?…
One more thing T.K, I like your style of writing man. If I could write the way you write I defiantly would choose to be an author..

        Peace

        1. Hi Zac,

It’s always a pleasure and I appreciate your questions and comments.

I understand the feeling of being perplexed and confused. Those feelings are not necessarily bad. Disorientation is often one of the key indicators of evolutionary progress. It is sometimes reported as being the most prevalent sensation felt by one who is in the midst of a paradigm shift.

I like how you describe yourself as a student of evolution. You wrote, “My humble belief and goal in life is to be a better person than yesterday and simply be a catalyst to my evolutionary experience here in this lifetime… Believing that by just doing that I contribute to the evlotion of all mankind.”

That is a great goal to have. As one of my favorite thinkers, Howard Thurman, wrote “”Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

When you devote your time and energy to the actualization of your highest self, you cannot go wrong.

On another note, you also wrote, “I need to say that I don’t consider myself a threat to ANYONE.. How a man that can’t even harm a bug could be a threat to anyone”

I don’t regard you as a threat at all. From the impression I get, you seem to be a kindhearted and sincere person who simply wants to add good to the world.

As I have said before, Zac, don’t let anyone steal your fire. Keep the inner flame of passion, love, and well-being burning and all will be well.

          Thanks for the dialogue.

          Cheers,

          TK
