Myth: All self-help books basically say the same thing.

Personal suspicion: that people who think all self-help books say the same thing are usually the ones who don’t actually read very many self-help books (perhaps because they’re too busy assuming they are all the same?).

Fact: Every problem you’re wrestling with has already been defeated and resolved by thousands of people who have less advantages than you. A substantial percentage of those people have written their insights down. Other people’s thoughts wont solve your problems because every experience is unique, but the disciplined practice of contemplating fresh ideas will always put you at a greater advantage then merely assuming you’ve already heard it all.

Today’s two cents: Read!
