Opposite versus Opposition

Left is the opposite of right, but those who go left are not required to oppose those who go right.

Up is the opposite of down, but those who go up are not required to oppose those who go down.

In is the opposite of out, but those who go in are not required to oppose those who go out.

Here’s today’s two cents:

We can be different without being difficult.

The existence of opposites doesn’t require the expression of opposition.

At least that’s the way I see it.
