Why I hate you
Dear Creators,
When I have nothing better to do,Β it is only natural for me to belittle you.
When my life has no higher purpose towards which I can aim, I am compelled to look upon your dreams with contempt and disdain.
I may sound confident when I spew discouraging words of scorn. But behind my hardened visage is a heart that’s painfully torn.
Be mystified no longer by my disparaging tone. Sometimes, the negative reaction I get out of you is the only way I know how to escape the feeling of being alone.
Please don’t allow me to ruin your day. My hurtful words are only a projection of my own dismay.
Continue to create no matter how much I hate.
Putting up with people like me may not be fun. But if you let us intimidate you, nothing good will ever get done.
Sincerely,
The Hater
P.S. Blogger, Jeff Goins, has written an excellent piece on how to handle haters and how to recognize the difference between haters and critics. Check it out here: There Will Be Haters
A successful man is one who lays a firm foundation with the stones thrown at him.
VERY well said. I like that one a lot.
I meant to ask you if you’ve see this yet? After clicking on this link, click on
Seven Minutes of Terror. Enjoy. (Hope it works.)

Absolutely astonishing!!! Man Oh Man! This is much more exciting that the Dark Knight Rises π I have to share this on Twitter. Thanks, fellow universe traveller π
I thought you would really enjoy the Mars venture video above as you’d written previously that you love astronomy. I’d tried to send
this to you months ago, but couldn’t seem to get it to work. Happy
it finally made its way to you.
I’ve been following Curiosity’s progress. A geochemical laboratory,
landing successfully in the Gale Crater; it’s making its way to Sharp Mountain to study the strata and determine past life habitats, and
future life possibilities.
Man. Machine. Mountain. Majestic.
I’ve often speculated if people could soar above the day-to-day
problems they lose themselves in, if they pondered the immense
universe (inside and outside), they would find themselves.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but the moments
that take our breath away.
Thanks for trying again, Alana π I’m glad I was able to check out the link. I’ll have to start checking in on their progress as well. It’s so cool to see how far our technology is bringing us. We are truly on the leading edge. Science Fiction is gradually morphing into Science Fact. And I agree with you about the power of space to rapture us away from our self-imposed prisons of preoccupation. Speaking of the immensity of Space, I just started reading a fascinating book by Tarthang Tulku called, “Time, Space, and Knowledge: A New Vision of Reality.” Some of his thoughts on the nature of these three fundamental categories of existence are quite profound and practical. I’m just getting warmed up, but I’ve been thinking about Space and my interactions with and within it quite a bit. I once heard the late Dallas Willard in an interview being asked what he thought the greatest problem facing the Church was in contemporary times. Willard said it was our understanding of space. His answer set my imagination on fire and sparked some explorations into the nature of space that I’ll never forget. Oh me oh my, i better stop writing and save some of this mind-space for our other ongoing convo. Heading over to comment right now. Cheers, TK
I create and share in the hope that what I do will entertain someone somewhere and perhaps add an additional positive note to their day. There are those who create…create hate. They toss the hurt that is festering within in blind rage at the already-transformed canvas to destroy. What they don’t understand is that hurling hate only fosters more hate within, not healing. You can’t throw your pain away, you have to heal it. I know. Torment once gripped me on the inside, but when it sought the freedom to grow and attack others I fought hard to heal within. How? Forgiveness, helping others, love.
Words of wisdom, my friend. I like your spirit and the attitude with which you handle “haters.” It is so important that we be able to see through the hate and maintain focus on a higher broader mission. Cheers to creating love and to lovingly creating π
Your words always seem to get right to the heart of the matter T.K. Keep telling it like it is!! We need to hear it!
Thank you for that, Pam π That means a lot to me. I appreciate knowing that my writing is resonating with someone. Cheers π
This is a very thought-provoking post, T.K. I have often taken to heart some disparaging remark from another person about my creative works. I am learning now that their reactions are about them and not me. Same goes for the person who is silent in response to my work. I used to take their silence as criticism, but now I know whatever their reason for saying nothing is not about me or my work at all! Thank you for the reminder to keep going, to keep creating even in the face of the detractors and haters. Cheers π
Cheers to you too, Audrey π I hear ya. As creators, we’re very close to our work and it can be easy to take other people’s attitudes personally. I like the perspective you’ve adopted regarding this. I don’t know if you saw it, but I also added a link on this post by Jeff Goins. It’s a really good piece on how to tell the difference between haters and critics. Good stuff. Keep on creating in spite of the hating π
