I am hopelessly in love with the printed page
“There is no friend as loyal as a book.” -Ernest Hemingway
I enjoy having books as much I enjoy reading them.
I don’t need to be involved in the process of extracting information from them in order to benefit from their presence.
Sometimes it’s simply enough to have them around.
The sheer knowledge that they are there for me when I need them is enough to comfort me in my darkest hour.
Oh yes. I’ve resisted using Kindle because I need my
actual books around me. We know who we are. We
need that extra room (library) for our collection. To
look at, to hold, to savor. Even before opening the
pages in eager anticipation—to read.
To help quench a thirst and feed a hunger.
“The sheer knowledge that they are there for me
when I need them is enough to comfort me in my
darkest hour.”
And then…brighten my days.
Indeed, ALana. We know who we are. Sometimes I look at my books and wonder who I will become once I read them. Such magic in those pages. They are portals connecting us other worlds and other times.
Yes! I’m with you on this, T.K. Love to surround myself with books (and art, too). 🙂
Yes! Books and art are among the loveliest of companions. Cheers, Audrey 🙂
