I’ve never met anyone who’s become smart by trying to become smart.
The only smart people I’ve met are the one’s whose intelligence was the accidental outcome of their preoccupation or intense interest in a particular question, puzzle, concern, or goal.
Intelligence is like money. If you focus too strongly and directly on acquiring it, you push it away. But if you turn your attention towards things like creating value, serving others, pursuing meaningful goals, and solving the problems that matter most to you, you’ll obtain it without even knowing it.
