We all make mistakes.
We all fail.
We are all guilty of having said or done things out of immaturity.
For every person we refuse to forgive, there is probably someone out there who refuses to forgive us.
Break the cycle of condemnation.
Acknowledge people’s ability to grow. Honor people’s capacity to change. Recognize and respect the possibility that people are bigger than their bad moments.
Perhaps some things are unforgivable. Most things, however, are not.
As the late Richard Carlson once said “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
The small stuff doesn’t define them. It doesn’t define you. It doesn’t define any of us.
Be big enough to let the little stuff go. Be patient enough to let others grow.
