There is no such thing as a creative process without challenges. If you’re creating, then you’re dealing with challenges.
It doesn’t matter if you’re creating a business or a Halloween costume. It doesn’t matter if you’re creating a comedy sketch or an evening out with friends.
If you’re involved in the business of making something happen, then that means you have to deal with at least one unpredictable element, at least one uncontrollable factor, or at least one variable that could cancel, complicate, or compromise your plans.
If you want to be more creative, then you need to develop a high level of tolerance for being challenged. Instead of letting problems push you around, you have to find a way to make them push you forward.
In the creative process, a challenge isn’t an excuse. It’s the main ingredient. If you want to be more than just a mere complainer, get used to it.
