The First Rule of Art

“I am not an artist”, regardless of who utters it, is a statement that presupposes an unnecessarily restrictive concept of “art.”

The first rule of art is to challenge that concept.

Creativity doesn’t begin until you create a philosophy of art that’s big enough to include your own personal and peculiar ways of being creative.
